Staying beautiful on a budget is possible, and all you need to do is master your ability to get free makeup samples. While makeup samples can be a little on the light side (they ARE samples after all!) you can get a lot of use out of them. But how do you get free makeup samples?

Before You Start Looking

Before you start looking, you need to know what makeup samples you actually need. The best thing you can do is hit the makeup counter and see what new products are out that you want to try. I don’t know how many times I have gone out and bought a full product that makes my eyes get all puffy or my face itch.

Make a list of different foundations, eye shadows, lipsticks and other makeup samples you want to look for free samples of.

Why Not Just Get Any Samples Offered?

When I first started getting free makeup samples, I would get anything and everything I could find. One thing you have to keep in mind is that everyone has different reactions to makeup, and not everything looks right on everyone’s skin: if you’re oily, or dry, or whatever, you need to make sure you’re getting the right makeup samples so you can stretch what you have for as long as you need to.

Getting free makeup samples is cake, as long as you know where to look. The top three places to get it are:

Direct from the Manufacturer

You can go to Revlon’s, for example, website and see what they’re offering in the way of samples. Here you can also get a feel for what colors are in for the season, and use it to order makeup and figure out tips to apply. Some of the best samples are found on the manufacturers websites, so be sure to make this your first step when you’re looking for samples!

Social Networking

Social networking sites like Facebook and twitter can help you find the best deals as well as free samples and coupons to get samples. Be sure to lookout for offers like “Buy one get one free” or “free gift for subscribers”; these here are some of the best samples and even full products that you can get with the littlest effort possible.

Magazines

Magazines (especially fashion and beauty magazines) have some of the best samples and coupons you could imagine. These are something you definitely should take advantage of. If you don’t have magazine subscriptions, look for free trial offers of the most popular magazines and just get your coupons from there. Remember, almost everything you could ever want is free.

So no matter what, make sure you look for free samples before you buy real products. It’ll save you a bundle, and help you make sure you’re getting the right makeup for you.
